St Louis CITY2 earned a 2-1 comeback win against LAFC2 in MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference Quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon at CITYPARK. LAFC2 opened the scoring in the first half and held the lead until the 63rd minute when Brendan McSorley scored his first career playoff goal. McSorley’s goal was assisted Gabriel Mikina, who recorded his first professional assist. In second half stoppage time, Caden Glover’s individual effort to Mykhi Joyner helped CITY2 earn the 2-1 comeback victory and advance to the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference Semifinal. CITY2 will pick their opponent on Tuesday, October 22 at 2 p.m. CT. The date and time of the semifinal, which will be played at CITYPARK, will be announced at a later date.
