St Louis CITY2 fell 1-0 against Colrado Rapids 2 on Sunday at CITYPARK. After a goalless first half, Rapids 2 found the back of the net in the 82nd minute through Rémi Cabral who tucked away a rare chance against the run of play.
CITY2 controlled the tempo of the match throughout the first half. Despite outshooting and out possessing their opponents in the opening 45 minutes, only two of their nine shots were on target. CITY2 kept their opponents scoreless in the first half for the tenth time this season.
CITY2 picked up where they left off out of the break, creating dangerous chances to keep pressure on the visitors. Despite dictating the flow of the game, CITY2 would concede on a counterattack that was finished off by Colorado’s Rémi Cabral in the 82nd minute of play.
CITY2 pushed numbers forward as they searched for the late equalizer, but good goalkeeping and defending kept them off the scoresheet.
