St. Louis CITY SC kick off their Leagues Cup journey with a home match against FC Dallas on Saturday at CITYPARK. The match will kick off at 8:00 p.m. CT, with live coverage available on MLS Season Pass via the Apple TV app, and English and Spanish radio broadcasts on KYKY Y98.1 FM and KXOK 102.9 FM respectively.
St. Louis CITY SC fans will have a unique opportunity to see the players walk into CITYPARK ahead of Saturday’s match. Players will arrive outside Lou Fusz Plaza to walk into the stadium together at approximately 6:00 p.m. before kickoff against FC Dallas.
In their most recent match, St. Louis CITY SC snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw over rivals, Sporting Kansas City at Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday night. St. Louis struck first when Nökkvi Thórisson scored his third goal in six matches with John Klein and Akil Watts registering assists on the goal. It was Klein’s first career MLS assist and Watts’ first of the season.
St. Louis will look to earn their first win in Leagues Cup play after falling against Columbus Crew and Club América in the inaugural tournament last season. This season both of CITY SC’s Leagues Cup group matches will be at CITYPARK.
St. Louis CITY SC has a 15-8-7 record at CITYPARK and has scored multiple goals in each of their 15 wins and tallied at least three goals in 10 of those matches.
St. Louis is 1-2-1 all time against FC Dallas. The most recent meeting was on June 15 which saw Dallas earning the three points. In that match, Tim Parker made his 250th MLS start and Roman Bürki played in his 50th MLS game. St. Louis’ only win against FC Dallas occurred last season with a 2-1 victory. During the match, both Anthony Markanich and Nökkvi Thórisson scored their first career MLS goals.
FC Dallas comes into the match following a 1-1 draw with New England Revolution last Saturday. Dallas is 0-8-4 on the road this season and have scored 38 goals and conceded 39. They are led by forward Petar Musa, who has notched 13 goals this season and is tied for fourth in goals scored in the MLS.
