St. Louis CITY SC has added winger Mykhi Joyner to the first-team roster on a short-term agreement ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Vancouver Whitecaps at Energizer Park.
Joyner looked lively in his home MLS debut last weekend, coming off the bench in the closing minutes against Columbus. The dynamic winger now has two first-team appearances under his belt, having made his league debut last season against Seattle Sounders FC.
A standout for CITY2 in 2024, Joyner led the team with 19 goals and four assists, including a club-record 16 goals in the regular season. His breakout year earned him a spot on the MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and second place in the Golden Boot race.
Under MLS roster guidelines, off-roster Homegrown Players like Joyner are eligible to appear in league matches only when called up on a short-term basis. These players may appear as short-term call ups in up to six (6) MLS regular season matches per season.
