For St. Louis CITY SC Academy’s U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-18 teams, the weekend marked the beginning of the 2024-25 MLS NEXT season. All four squads continued their impressive form from last season, notching a combined 4-0-0 record against FC United Soccer Club and a 2-1-1 record against Sockers FC Chicago.
U-14s open their account in MLS NEXT
The U-14 squad won 3-1 in their opening match of the season against FC United Soccer Club, with three different players inking their names on the scoresheet. Brodie Phillips, Quinn Bowman and Charles Thomson all found the back of the net. On Sunday against Sockers FC Chicago, Kayden Shaw scored a brace in the 2-2 draw.
U-15s score 15 goals combined
The U-15 had a high scoring weekend with their first game finishing 6-0. Robert English scored a brace and Caleb Conlon, Blake Williams, Kane Kraus and Bennett Hayden all scored. The scoring continued into Sunday as Edison Niles and Kane Kraus scored braces and Jonah Chisholm, Zach Brewster, Drew Dowling, Reid Williams and Caleb Conlon scored to earn the 9-0 shutout.
U-16s edge FC United Soccer Club and Sockers FC Chicago
The U-16s were the third Academy team to play on Saturday and opened their season 2-1. Jovanni Giffin and Jack Hennessy helped CITY earn their first win of the season. The U-16s continued their success on Sunday with a 4-0 shutout which saw Jack Hennessy, Matteo Hayes, Chianozie Nwankwo and Hagan Burrows all find the back of the net.
U-19's Jojo Adamitis runs up the scoresheet against FC United Soccer Club
Jojo Adamitis had an individual route against FC United Soccer Club, scoring all five goals to earn the 5-1 win for the U-19s on Saturday. The squad fell 4-0 against Sockers FC Chicago the following day.

The U-16 and U-19 squads will travel to Austin, Texas, as they face Austin FC on Sunday, September 15. The U-14 and U-15 teams are set to square off against Vardar Soccer Club in Michigan on Sunday, September 15.
