St. Louis CITY SC Academy Teams to Compete in 2025 Generation adidas Cup

Looking to continue the high-level play they have showcased this season; St. Louis CITY SC Academy’s U-16 and U-18 teams will compete in the 2025 Generation adidas Cup. The competition runs from April 12 through April 20 and will be hosted at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Eighty of the world’s premier U-16 and U-18 youth teams, featuring 80 teams representing 14 countries and four continents will compete in this year’s edition of the cup. The U-16 and U-18 divisions will each have 40 teams split into ten groups of four. Sixteen teams will advance to the single-elimination championship bracket, comprising the 10 group winners and the top six-second place bracket.

All teams competing in the 2025 Generation adidas Cup are guaranteed to play seven 60-minute matches, comprised of two 30-minute halves. The championship matches in both age groups will be extended to 70-minute matches. The CITY SC Academy U-16s and U-18s will compete in Group E and Group H, respectively. Notably, the U-16s matchup with Bayern Munich on April 14 at 11:00 a.m. CT, will be one of twelve matches exclusively streamed on MLS’ YouTube page. The remaining games will include select Round of 16 and Quarterfinal matchups, along with all Semi-Final, and Championship matches.

CITY SC Academy’s U-16 and U-18 sides come into the competition amidst a competitive regular season action this season. The U-16s are 3-5-3 in regular season play, meanwhile, the U-19s are 4-3-2 in regular season action.

U16 Schedule (Group E)

U18 Schedule (Group H)
April 12: Philadelphia Union at 1:00 p.m. CT
