Academy Recap: September 28 and 29

St. Louis CITY SC U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-19 academy teams went 4-1-2 on Saturday and Sunday facing Minnesota United FC and Indy Eleven respectively. The U-15 and U-16 teams fell in close matches on Saturday against MNUFC but the U-19s put five past Minnesota to win 5-3. On Sunday, all four teams went undefeated against Indy Eleven as the U-14s won 7-1, U-15s won 6-0, U-16s won 5-0, and U-19s tied 2-2. The teams scored a combined 26 goals during this past weekend’s games.

U-14s seven goal thriller
The U-14s had a high scoring game against Indy Eleven on Sunday as they notched seven goals. Charles Thomson scored a brace and Layne Meyer, Vedad Kovac, Nick Harris, Quinn Bowman, and Kayden Shaw all scored to earn the win.

U-15s earn 6-0 shutout against Indy Eleven
The U-15s opened the weekend on Saturday as they fell in a close 2-1 match against Minnesota United FC. The team responded with a 6-0 win on Sunday against Indy Eleven. Eddie Niles scored a hat trick and Kane Kraus, Reid Williams, and Miroslav Levkovsky earned goals on Sunday afternoon. Goalkeepers Maddox Slezak and Ryan Cloninger combined to earn the shutout.

U-16s score five goals past Indy Eleven
The U-16s dropped a 1-0 match against Minnesota United FC. On Sunday morning, the U-16s faced Indy Eleven and earned the 5-0 shutout. Kaden Donigan, Chianozie Nwankwo, Ben Lovell, Jovanni Giffin, and Alex Jundt got their names on the scoresheet. Goalkeeper Bradford Baucom marked his second shutout of the season.

U-19s combine for seven goals in two games
During their midday match against Minnesota United FC, the U-19s earned a 5-3 victory which saw Evan Carlock score a brace and Jack DiMaria, Chidube Nwankwo, and Carter Knodle earn goals. The U-19s faced Indy Eleven on Sunday and drew 2-2 with Jojo Adimitis and Hudson Jacobs notching goals.

What’s Next?
All four squads will travel to take on Michigan Jaguars on Saturday, October 5 and face Midwest United FC the following day on Sunday, October 6.
