STL CITY's U17 Team Looks to Wrap Up Fall Mls Next Season on a High Note
Following a 6-1 victory over St. Louis Scott Gallagher last weekend, St. Louis CITY SC’s U17s will close out their fall season against Minnesota United’s U17s, at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex Field #1 on Sunday, November 21 at 10 a.m. CST.
STL CITY U17 team had a flying start in their match last weekend, scoring four first half goals to take a commanding lead into the halftime break. The boys’ relentless pressing ensured that their opponents were kept at bay for majority of the game. The team will look to extend their six-game unbeaten streak against a buzzing Minnesota United team, who are coming off a big 4-3 win against Columbus Crew.
“The boys had a really professional performance last week,” explained Lutz Pfannenstiel, St. Louis CITY Sporting Director. “Even though we had a commanding lead at half, I thought we did an admirable job of keeping our focus and maintaining our discipline throughout the game. We have another opportunity to get better as a team this weekend and hopefully we can close out our fall MLS NEXT season with another win in front of our home fans.”
Until last weekend, Minnesota United’s U17s had not won a game in MLS NEXT action. Last weekend’s win over Columbus Crew will give them a massive boost as they look to upset STL CITY who have been undefeated at home all season.
