Looking to continue the high-level play they have showcased this season, the St. Louis CITY SC Academy’s U-15 and U-17 teams will compete in the 2024 Generation adidas Cup. The competition runs from March 30 through April 7 and will be hosted at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
This year’s edition of the Generation adidas Cup is the most competitive and global to date. 80 of the world’s premier U-15 and U-17 youth teams, representing 49 clubs and hailing from 16 countries across four continents, will compete in the competition this year. The U-15 and U-17 divisions will each have 40 teams split across ten groups, with the ten group-winners and the top-six second-place teams advancing to the single-elimination championship bracket. The CITY SC Academy U-15s and U-17s will compete in Group F and Group D, respectively.
CITY SC Academy’s U-15 and U-17 sides come into the competition amidst strong play in regular season action this season. The U-15s are 9-8-3 in regular season play and have outscored opponents 47 to 33. Meanwhile, the U-17s are 14-3-3 in regular season action with a plus-30 goal difference and enter the Generation adidas Cup riding a three-match winning streak.
