St. Louis CITY SC fell 4-1 to LA Galaxy in their first match of the Coachella Valley Invitational preseason tournament. Jared Stroud scored CITY SC’s lone goal of the match.
St. Louis CITY SC broke the deadlock in the 13th minute after John Nelson rolled a pass across for Stroud to tap into the open net. LA Galaxy equalized in the 32nd minute to level the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.
As been the case for the previous preseason matches, CITY SC fielded a new 11 to start the second half. LA Galaxy took the lead early in the second half before making it 3-1 in the 52nd minute after converting a penalty kick. Galaxy scored their fourth goal of the afternoon in 79th minute.
St. Louis CITY SC go again on Sunday when they face Vancouver Whitecaps in their second match of the Coachella Valley Invitational.
