St Louis CITY2 picked up a point after a back-and-forth affair that saw Minnesota United FC 2 win on penalty kicks. Minnesota struck first in the 36th minute and went into halftime with the 1-0 lead. After halftime, Mykhi Joyner scored his fifteenth goal of the season to even the score at 1-1. Matteo Kidd earned his second assist of the season on the goal. CITY2 found the net again in the 69th minute with a goal from Brendan McSorley that was assisted by a Mykhi Joyner corner kick. MNUFC2 tied the match at 2-2 right before second half stoppage time. In the penalty shootout following regulation, Minnesota won 4-2 to earn the extra point. St Louis CITY2 will head out west to face The Town FC on Sunday, September 22.
