Match Report | St. Louis CITY SC Hits Four Past Sporting KC for the Second Time at CITYPARK

St. Louis CITY SC rattled home four goals in the last 17 minutes to record a huge 4-1 win over Sporting KC. After a quiet first half by both teams, Sam Adeniran headed CITY SC into the lead in the 73rd minute before Jared Stroud doubled the score two minutes later. CITY SC Designated Player João Klauss scored a brace to put the match out of reach before William Agada scored a consolation goal for Sporting KC in the dying moments of the match.

Expansion Team History
With the win against Sporting KC, St. Louis moved to 17 wins, setting the record for most wins by an expansion team in MLS history. CITY SC earned its 11th home victory of the season, tying Atlanta United for the most home victories by an expansion team in their inaugural season in MLS history (excluding the shootout era).
