St Louis CITY2 (11-5-2, 36 points) returns home to CITYPARK after two consecutive away matches to face off against Ventura County FC (6-5-8, 33 points) for the first time this season. The match will start at 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, August 2 and will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

St Louis will look to go back to winning ways against Ventura County FC following their away trip to North Texas SC last Saturday night. Oscar Benitez scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal off a free kick by Mykhi Joyner. The assist was Joyner’s second of the season. Sam Gomez also made his first professional appearance with the start. Additionally, Lucas Demitra made his first MLS NEXT Pro start and academy player Jack DiMaria played in his first professional game coming off the bench.

CITY2 and Ventura County FC will square off for the first time this season. St Louis and Ventura County (then LA Galaxy II) have played twice in their previous meetings with both games occurring last season. CITY2 has a 1-0-1 record against Ventura with their only win happening last September in a 4-1 bout. Wan Kuzain, Caden Glover, John Klein, and an own goal from VCFC helped St Louis earn the three points.

VCFC sit three points behind CITY2 in third place in the MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference standings. The team has scored 31 goals and has also conceded 31 goals. Goalkeeper Brady Scott has started and played in every single game this season for Ventura County while forward Aaron Bibout leads the team in scoring with seven goals and four assists.

CITY2 has been successful at CITYPARK, winning six games and only losing two this season. St Louis has scored 15 goals at home and has not lost at home match since their season opener against Colorado Rapids 2. The last time CITY2 played at home was on July 6 versus LAFC 2 which saw Mykhi Joyner score his first professional brace, Brendan McSorley score his third goal of the season, and Matteo Kidd start and score in his first game with St Louis.
