St. Louis CITY SC hits the road for the first time this Leagues Cup campaign as they face Club América in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, August 13 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA. The match will kick off at 9:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Fans can also follow via radio on KYKY on KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).

St. Louis CITY SC advanced to the Round of 16 following an impressive 3-1 win against Portland Timbers at CITYPARK last Friday. Cedric Teuchert, Marcel Hartel and Simon Becher etched their names on the scoresheet to give CITY SC their first home win against the Timbers.

Hartel, Becher and Teuchert have provided instant impact for the club since arriving during the MLS Secondary Transfer Window a few weeks ago. The attackers have scored all six of CITY SC’s goals (two goals each) in Leagues Cup play.

Eduard Löwen pulled the strings in midfield against the Timbers, notching two assists on the night. The assists were Löwen’s fourth and fifth across all competitions this season, tying him with Indiana Vassilev for the most on the team. Löwen’s helpers against Portland means he has now recorded 20 assists for CITY SC across all competitions since his arrival in St. Louis.

Of the ten MLS teams that made it to the Round of 16, St. Louis is one of four teams (Seattle, Colorado and San Jose) that qualified for this stage of the tournament after not making it out of the group last season.

St. Louis is unbeaten (2-0-2) in their last four matches across all competitions and is building momentum heading into the final stages of the season. The four-match unbeaten run is the team’s first streak of its kind since May 11. Since the summer window, CITY SC has outscored their opponents 7-4.

CITY SC will be looking to capture their first win on the road this season. Though the team will not be playing against LA Galaxy, CITY SC has a 0-0-2 record at Dignity Health Sports Park and has scored five goals across those two matches.

CITY SC and América faced off once last season in the Leagues Cup group stage, with the Mexican team sealing the victory at CITYPARK. After a group stage bye, Club América advanced past Atlas FC in the Round of 32 with Henry Martín's 73rd-minute goal sealing a 2-1 win, building off Érick Sánchez's opener.

In last year’s campaign, Nashville SC eliminated Club América on penalties in the Round of 16. The winner of the match on Tuesday will face Toluca FC or Colorado Rapids in the quarterfinals on August 17.
