St Louis CITY2 Re-Signs Five Players for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Season

St Louis CITY2 bolstered its roster ahead of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season, re-signing five players from last season’s team: Dida Armstrong, Ryan Becher, Larsen Hackworth, Matteo Kidd and Gabriel Mikina. Each player is signed through the 2025 season.

Mikina, who captained the team for the second half of the season, featured in 26 matches and played a crucial role in the squad’s playoff run. Mikina recorded two goal contributions in the playoffs, including his first professional goal for CITY2 in a 4-2 win over The Town FC at CITYPARK.

Armstrong, one of the longest-tenured players on the team alongside midfielder Wan Kuzain, has made 55 appearances for CITY2, contributing four goals and one assist. Armstrong scored his first professional brace last season in a 5-0 win over Tacoma Defiance.

Kidd, who joined CITY2 midseason, made an immediate impact with five goal contributions (three goals, two assists) in 15 appearances. Kidd scored his first CITY2 goal in his debut match against LAFC2.

Hackworth returns after a season interrupted by injury. Since joining in 2023, Hackworth has made 16 appearances, debuting for CITY2 in March 2023 against Tacoma Defiance.

Becher, in his rookie season, provided a spark in the attack, scoring two goals and registering four assists in 31 appearances. Becher netted his first professional goal, a game-winner, against Houston Dynamo 2.

TRANSACTION: St Louis CITY2 has re-signed Dida Armstrong, Ryan Becher, Matteo Kidd, Gabriel Mikina, and Larsen Hackworth for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. All players are contracted through the 2025 season.
