St Louis CITY2 announced today end of year roster decisions following the conclusion of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season. CITY2 have five players promoted to St. Louis CITY SC and declined the options on six, with two players out of contract. An additional four players are already under contract for next season.
CITY2 will see the promotions of defenders Kyle Hiebert and Josh Yaro, and midfielders Celio Pompeu, Max Schneider and Akil Watts. Hiebert, Watts and Yaro signed guaranteed MLS contracts for the 2023 season, while Pompeu and Schneider had their MLS options exercised for the 2023 MLS season.
The club declined options on forward Josh Dolling, midfielder AJ Palazzolo, defender Kwame Awuah and goalkeepers Michael Creek, Ian McGrane and Eric Walker. CITY2 are in discussions with Creek, Palazzolo and Walker for a potential return in 2023.
CITY2 midfielder Vitor Dias and defender Ben Di Rosa are out of contract.
