CITY SC also selects Providence College forward Brendan McSorley in the Third Round
St. Louis CITY SC had an active 2024 MLS SuperDraft, swapping their natural second round pick and 2024 GAM for Nashville’s natural first round pick and also making a third round pick. CITY SC selected Wake Forest’s Hosei Kijima with the 17th overall pick and then picked Providence College’s Brendan McSorley with the 79th overall pick.
CITY SC traded $75,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money and their natural second round pick (50th) for Nashville SC’s natural first round pick (17th).
Kijima, 21, Started all 18 of his appearances, serving as a team captain as Wake Forest earned its fifth ACC Atlantic Division title in nine seasons. He was named United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First-Team as he recorded eight points on three goals and two assists. In four years as a Demon Deacon, the Yokohama, Japan, native tallied 63 games played with nine goals and 10 assists.
McSorley played four seasons at Providence College, accruing 23 goals and five assists in 62 matches played. The Randolph, New Jersey, native had his most promising collegiate season as a senior, starting all 17 matches and amassed 11 goals and one assist.
