Match Report | St Louis CITY2 Earns 1-0 Shutout Over Sporting Kansas City II

KANSAS CITY, KS (March 14, 2025) - St Louis CITY2 continued their strong start to the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season earning a 1-0 shutout against Sporting Kansas City II on Friday night. CITY2 opened the scoring in the sixteenth minute with a goal from Mykhi Joyner, assisted by Brendan McSorley. St Louis kept the lead throughout the second half to secure another three points on the road. Colin Welsh won his first professional shutout and Wan Kuzain returned to the field after sustaining an injury last season. CITY2 will return home next weekend on Sunday, March 23 at Energizer Park to once again face Sporting KC II at 4:00 p.m. CT.
