Match Preview | St. Louis CITY SC Hits the Road to Take on Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field

Match Preview - SEA v STL

St. Louis CITY SC will head to the pacific northwest to face Seattle Sounders on Wednesday at Lumen Field. Kickoff is slated for 9:30 p.m. CT. Fans can catch the action live on MLS Season Pass via the Apple TV app or tune in to the English radio broadcast on KYKY Y98.1 FM, with Spanish coverage available on KXOK 102.9 FM.

St. Louis CITY SC will be looking for their first win against Seattle after falling in the three previous matches between the two sides. Seattle is the only opponent St. Louis has faced more than once without ever earning at least a point.

Nökkvi Thórisson again etched his name on the scoresheet in the defeat to Vancouver in the last match. The goal marked his second of the season. Per Opta, Thórisson’s goal was CITY SC’s 12th goal off a set piece this season (including penalties).

In the previous match against Seattle this season, defender Tomas Totland scored CITY SC’s lone goal off a feed from midfielder Eduard Löwen. Löwen has recorded 25 goal contributions in 36 starts since joining the league. In 19 road matches, Löwen has scored two goals and recorded five assists.

CITY SC will come up against a familiar face in Jon Bell when the team takes on Seattle. Bell, a member of the club’s inaugural team, played nine matches in total during his time with CITY SC and CITY2. Bell has made five appearances for The Sounders since signing with the team.

Seattle currently sits in seventh in the Western Conference standings with a 9-7-7 record. Seattle is currently on a six-match unbeaten streak in league play. The only team to beat Seattle at Lumen Field this season was Vancouver Whitecaps who snatched a 2-0 victory back on April 20.
