St. Louis CITY SC will wrap up their second road match of the week against cross-state rivals Sporting KC on Saturday at Children’s Mercy Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, with live coverage available on MLS Season Pass via the Apple TV app, and English and Spanish radio broadcasts on KYKY Y98.1 FM and KXOK 102.9 FM respectively.

In their last match, St. Louis CITY SC saw academy forward Mykhi Joyner make his MLS debut against Seattle, becoming the league's 13th youngest debutant at just 17 years and 322 days old, and the second youngest in CITY SC history, following Caden Glover.

St. Louis CITY SC will be aiming to narrow the gap against Sporting KC, who currently lead the all-time series with a 3-2-1 record. However, CITY SC holds the edge in regular season meetings with a 2-1-1 record.

Their last encounter ended dramatically in a 3-3 draw, with Klauss, Célio Pompeu, and Tomas Totland all finding the net for CITY SC. Totland's stoppage-time equalizer marked his first goal for CITY SC and secured the team’s first-ever point at Children’s Mercy Park.

The rivalry has been marked by high-scoring affairs, producing 16 goals in four regular season matches —12 for St. Louis and six for Sporting KC. St. Louis has scored three or more goals in three of their four meetings. Eduard Löwen leads the series with three assists, while Klauss and Alan Pulido top the goal-scoring charts with three each.

Sporting KC, currently 12th in the Western Conference standings, enters the match following a 2-1 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps, holding a 4-5-3 record at home. CITY SC sits just one point behind in 13th place, setting the stage for another highly anticipated rivalry match.
