St. Louis CITY SC will hit the road to face LAFC in a midweek matchup on Wednesday at BMO Stadium. Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and broadcasted via radio on KYKY 98.1 FM (English) and on KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).
The match will mark the second meeting between the two clubs this season. Back in May, LAFC earned a 2-0 win at CITYPARK behind a brace from Denis Bouanga. St. Louis will be looking for their first win against LAFC, who leads the series with a record of 2-0-1 all-time.
CITY SC comes into the clash on a two-match win streak, their first back-to-back wins in the regular season since September 30 of last season. Cedric Teuchert continued his hot streak against Sporting KC, picking up a goal and two assists against CITY SC’s cross-state rivals. St. Louis finished the season unbeaten against Sporting KC (1-0-2 record).
Teuchert’s three goal contributions matched Marcel Hartel (three assists against Portland Timbers on August 24) for the single-game team high this season. Teuchert was selected to Team of the Matchday for his performance.
Midfielders Eduard Löwen and Rasmus Alm also tallied goals on the night with Akil Watts also picking up his second assist of the season.
LAFC comes into the match with a win after defeating FC Cincinnati 2-1 on the road following a 3-1 win against Sporting KC last Wednesday to secure the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. However, the win against FC Cincinnati on Saturday was the first in their last six regular season games (1-3-2). LAFC is led by Denis Bouanga who sits second in the golden boot race with 18 goals.
