Fans will have the opportunity to capture the CITYPARK experience while also watching some of the club’s budding stars
St Louis CITY2 revealed its schedule – and a revamped kids and family first-themed approach – ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.
CITY2 set the MLS NEXT Pro attendance record on two different occasions in 2023. This season, the club will be taking match days to a different level, allowing for up-close looks at the team’s budding stars while also offering more family-focused activities, deals on concessions and fun theme nights.
“We’re so excited to welcome CITY2 back for another memorable season, with a redesigned proposition for families and young kids,” said St. Louis CITY SC President and GM Diego Gigliani. “With earlier kick-off times, family friendly pricing and a fun kids-oriented matchday experience, we hope to welcome new fans to CITYPARK and create relationships for life.”
Building off a successful first season at CITYPARK, CITY2 will be relaunching its game-day experience, offering a collection of family-friendly activities which includes: food and drink specials including a Kids Meal, “Supporter Camp” where kids can bang drums, wave flags in the Supporter section as they cheer on the team and get artsy with CITY face painters in the concourse. Kid PA announcers will be on the mic every match, and at the end of each match fans will have the opportunity to greet players and get autographs.
Seating will be General Admission for all CITY2 home matches, limited to the lower bowl on the east side of the stadium. An expanded number of concessions stands, and fan experiences will also be available on match days this season. Local food store Wally’s will serve as a food partner for all CITY2 matches, offering fan favorites Wally's Popcorn and Wally's BBQ Sandwich along with other special items.
Tickets will go on sale on February 13 on SeatGeek with the price remaining unchanged from last season at $13 per ticket for adults. Group tickets which are geared towards local youth groups and schools will go for $10 per ticket. Season tickets are available for $125 per ticket; however, this season the club is offering a family-oriented promotional rate of $400 for families of four.
The team will kick off the regular season at home, taking on last year’s regular season Western Conference-winners Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday, March 17. For this season’s home opener on March 17 kids (12 and under) will be able to attend the match for just $5 per ticket.
“It is a great feeling knowing that we will be opening the season in front of our incredible fans at CITYPARK,” said CITY2 Head Coach Bobby Murphy. “There is no better environment in the league, and we are looking forward to putting on a show every match, and then interacting with the fans after each game which has become a tradition for us.”
CITY2’s first road test of the year will be against cross-state rival Sporting Kansas City II on Sunday, March 31. The team will play SKC II, along with each of its five other divisional foes three times this season.
The majority of regular season matches, plus all Decision Day matches, playoff matches and MLS NEXT Pro Cup, will be available to watch live and on-demand with MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. The remainder of regular season matches will stream live on mlsnextpro.com.
