Hiebert signed through 2026 with an option for ‘27
St. Louis CITY SC defender and Missouri State graduate Kyle Hiebert signed a new contract that runs through 2026 with a club option for 2027. Hiebert has been with St. Louis since signing a contract with CITY2 in 2022.
“Kyle has grown exponentially since joining this club, which is why this decision was a no-brainer”, said Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel. “He continues to excel, both on and off the field, and his positional versatility has been a massive growth in his game.”
Hiebert, 26, had a strong first season in MLS and as a professional overall. The Manitoba, Canada, native appeared in 31 matches and 2,427 minutes across all competitions on the CITY SC back line. In MLS regular-season play, Hiebert started 24 matches, 10 at center back, 13 at left back and once at right back while tallying two goals. CITY SC was 15-7-2 during MLS regular-season play when Hiebert was in the starting XI.
For country, Hiebert made his first appearance with the Canadian Men’s National team senior camp in March for Concacaf Nations League matches. Prior to his call up, he made three appearances for Under-18 Canadian MNT.
Hiebert’s rise from college to MLS has been a steep one. The Canadian defender had a strong collegiate career as a two-time MAC Hermann Trophy award finalist. He was then signed to St Louis CITY2, after not being drafted in the MLS SuperDraft, started all 27 matches, played 2,426 out of 2,430 total minutes and recorded three goals in MLS NEXT Pro.
