For the first time since March, all four St Louis CITY Academy teams were in action last weekend. With each team competing on the road, the Academy sides posted a combined 1-1-2 record.
U-15s cruise to a commanding victory
Facing off against their Minnesota United FC Academy counterpart, the U-15s put on a dominant offense display to continue their successful start to the season. With Chidube Nwankwo, Jojo Adamitis and Lorenzo Cornelius notching goals for CITY SC, the U-15s secured a 3-0 victory in League play.
U-16s fight for draw against SC Wave
Entering their match this weekend, the U-16s were in perfect form (9-0-0) through their first nine League games. Midfielder Jack DiMaria bagged the lone goal for the boys against a tough SC Wave side in their 1-1 draw, maintaining the U-16s' unbeaten run and top spot in the Mid-America Division.
U-17s pick up a point in low-scoring affair
Also taking on a Minnesota United FC Academy side, the U-17s put on a gritty performance last weekend. The boys scored one goal, courtesy of forward Jackson Delkus, on the way to a 1-1 draw.
UPSL fall short against Beaman United FC
The UPSL team could not return to their winning ways over the weekend, dropping a second straight match despite a valiant effort to earn points against high-flying Beaman United FC. Forwards Nathan Ferguson and Adam Reiniger each netted a goal for the boys, but the home side put home three of their own to secure a 3-2 win over the UPSL side.
What’s Next?
Only the UPSL team will be in action next weekend when they host Pumas Premier. The other three Academy teams will resume play in two weeks.
