With two teams travelling to Texas and one team staying in town, St. Louis CITY SC Academy teams posted a combined 2-2-1 record in their latest round of play over the weekend.

U-15s grind out four points in League play

In their first match of the weekend, the U-15s captured a win in a low-scoring affair against FC Dallas Academy, with midfielder Lorenzo Cornelius netting the lone goal in the game to secure a 1-0 win. The U-15s played in another close game Sunday when they faced off against Austin FC Academy, and it was forward JoJo Adamitis whose goal lifted the team to a 1-1 draw. With these results, the U-15s are now 3-2-4 in League play thus far, placing them in third in the Central (North) Division.

U-17s win against FC Dallas, drop game against Austin FC

To kick off the weekend, the U-17s kept their winning ways going with an intense 2-1 victory over FC Dallas Academy courtesy of goals from forward Jackson Delkus and forward Ryan Dugan. The boys found the going a bit tougher the following day when they played Austin FC Academy, and it was midfielder Nathan Harmon who scored the only goal for the away side in a 4-1 defeat. Despite the loss, the U-17s are still in command of the Central (North) Division, leading the way with their 7-1-1 record in League action.

UPSL team lose first match of the season in a close contest

Remaining in the area this past weekend, the UPSL squad matched up with local club St. Louis Fusion FC. Although midfielder Mikey Lay put one past their opponent’s goalkeeper to get the team on the board, his goal was not enough in a back-and-forth match that saw Fusion FC come out on top 2-1. Even with the loss, CITY SC’s UPSL team is still second in the Kentucky-Tennessee division with a 4-1-0 record.

What’s Next?

All four CITY SC Academy teams are in action next weekend, with each team playing on the road. On Saturday, the U-16s take on SC Wave and the UPSL team squares off against Beaman United FC. The following day, the U-15s and U-17s each clash with the corresponding Minnesota United FC Academy team.
