Following a two-match road trip, St. Louis CITY SC returns to CITYPARK to take on Chicago Fire FC on Saturday. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Fans can also listen via radio on KYKY Y98.1 FM (English) and KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).
CITY SC will square off against The Fire for the third time in club history. St. Louis will be looking for their first win against Chicago after facing defeat in the two matches played last season (0-2-0 record). The first meeting was in the U.S. Open Cup (2-1 L) and the second was in league play (1-0 L). Both matches were played in Chicago.
Following last weekend’s draw against Houston Dynamo, the team pushed its unbeaten streak to four matches (1-0-3 record). With his stellar ten-save performance against Houston, Roman Bürki was selected to the Team of the Matchday. Bürki’s four clean sheets in 10 games this season are tied for first in the league. The Swiss goalkeeper achieved that mark in four fewer games than he did last season.
In ten MLS matches, St. Louis CITY SC has scored 15 goals and outshot its opponents 164-107, and also hit the target more frequently than their opponents with a shot on target discrepancy of 52-39. St. Louis is one of two teams (Columbus Crew) with just one loss in the regular season.
In five regular season matches at CITYPARK, St. Louis have recorded three clean sheets and conceded only three times on 11 shots on target given up in those matches. CITY SC is tied for first for most shutouts at home with FC Cincinnati, Real Salt Lake, Columbus Crew and Charlotte FC.
St. Louis is unbeaten at CITYPARK this season with a 2-0-3 record in MLS play. CITY SC has only lost once in their last eleven regular season home matches (6-1-4 record), scoring 21 goals in that stretch.
Chicago Fire comes into the match with a 2-5-4 record with 11 goals scored and 19 goals conceded. Chicago has won only one of its last 12 regular-season road games (1-4-7 record) dating back to the beginning of July last season. Three of their last five road matches have ended in draws, including the last one, a scoreless match with the New York Red Bulls.
